I thought that any meteorites found in Australia had to be handed in to the government?
I think some even have gemstones in them. Little green stones. Cant remember their name to early lol

I only metioned it because we have a lot of craters and meteorites in oz and they can be valuable so i would of thought there would be more hobbyists chasing them

Why is that ? because it's legal to find keep & sell them in NSW !
But you do need permission to export .
All the other states & territories own any meteorites found .
